Hoze Dolly was designed to handle 80 lb, rolls of 4” LDH in 100’ lengths and 110lb rolls of 5” LDH in 100’ lengths. Hoze Dolly also has limited utility as a hand truck for retrieving multiple rolls of 1 ¾ “ and 2 ½ “. as well as using the Laze Susan feature to uncoil these attack line rolls during reloading. This is particularly useful when your apparatus floor has limited space to roll out hose lines when repacking hose beds inside the station is necessary.

Hoze Dolly is collapsible and will fit in most fire apparatus compartments. It’s collapsed dimensions are 40.5″ X 15.5″ X 8.5″. This is a key feature of Hoze Dolly because it makes it readily available where it is needed, on the fire ground, without anyone ever needing to retrieve it from the station during mop up. It may be justified to retrieve a hose handling device from the station for 5 or 6 lengths of LDH, however, few departments will take the time for only one length and one length is all it may take to cause a crippling back injury.

A firefighter manually carrying the 80 – 110 lb rolls of LDH back to the engine for reloading risks serious back injury. In fact many firefighters, both men and women, young and old alike, struggle to carry the heavy rolls. This is especially true when a long “lay” may require the last roll to be carried several hundred or even a thousand feet back to the engine and this is where the affordable HOZE DOLLY is a game changer. It’s modest price allows many departments to equip multiple trucks with a Hoze Dolly and when multiple Hoze Dollys are deployed after a fire, the time required for companies to get back in service is significantly reduced.

Even if carrying a roll back to the engine doesn’t cause an acute back injury, cumulative back strain over time can develop into chronic back pain that too often results in forcing a firefighter’s early retirement.
